Project Description

Valhalla Golf Club, originally built in 1986, underwent a major renovation in preparation for the 2024 PGA Golf Tournament held in May. This project included a complete overhaul of several interior and exterior spaces, with some areas receiving a facelift. The south elevation was entirely redesigned to enhance the club’s appeal.

The main entry was transformed with walnut trophy cases, wall paneling, trim, and flooring, showcasing elegant white oak. The painted trim was made from 1×12 tongue-and-groove poplar in 16-foot lengths to eliminate unsightly joints, allowing the panels to rise seamlessly into the cupola. Scaffolding was used for the upper work due to weight restrictions on the floor.

The dining room and lounge merge into a spacious area, separated by changes in ceiling height and trim. The porch features folding back doors for an open patio when weather permits.

The bar and back bar, crafted from #3 white oak, offer a rustic yet refined aesthetic. The solid oak bar top includes a few rustic areas filled with clear epoxy and is complemented by an ultra-tough varnish. The bar front features leather-covered ceramic tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern, completing the sophisticated design.
