Project Description
When the Brown Forman Company decided to enlarge their visitor center to accommodate the hundred thousand or so visitors it gets each year, they selected Leininger as their millworker. The work included not only the woodwork, but all of the metal panels and the chimney flue you see at the fireplace, along with the glass display cases and the lighting that showcases their product.
The theme was copper, wood and glass – the same three materials that bourbon whiskey is made and stored in. Increasingly in high end projects, woodworkers are responsible for other materials like metal, glass and specialty plastics. Leininger is very adept at finding and integrating these materials. This job earned Leininger an AWI Award of Excellence.
